Jill, one of our Pastoral Counselors, is a personable and understanding listener, attending to the aspects of each individual’s life experience and personal context. She combines various theoretical approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment theory and complicated grief therapy, but ultimately believes it is God’s mercy and truth which changes lives. Her areas of focus are marriage and family therapy, pre-marital therapy, anxiety and depression, grief and trauma, spiritual abuse, and conflict resolution.
Jill holds her undergraduate psychology degree from University of Montevallo and her master’s degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity Seminary. While completing her master’s she began training at Evanston Vineyard and learned to integrate biblical truths into counseling psychology. After moving to California, she began counseling at Enclave Community Church to assist the Pastoral Counseling ministry for 12 years before joining the Chapel Soul Care team.
Jill met her husband, Stan, at Trinity Seminary in Chicago. Together they have three adult children. Her hobbies include cooking, reading about cooking, and finding the best travel bargains.
It is my hope to hold a safe space for growth and healing and in your journey to health be a trusted confidante with the precious things in your life that matter most. I feel privileged to be on this journey with you.
