Lori is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#147363) and has been companioning clients for 13 years as a spiritual director, pastoral counselor, and now as an AMFT. Her work with clients focuses on trauma processing, boundary and relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, adolescent and young adult transitions, and family of origin work.
She has found the Enneagram to be an invaluable tool for self-awareness and growth, as well as understanding difference in relationships. Lori enjoys working with couples, and is trained in the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy, a research-based system that helps couples learn to manage conflict, deepen friendship and intimacy, and share their life purpose and dreams. She is also trained in EMDR therapy, an evidenced based trauma-focused treatment that serves as an efficient and effective tool to assist with processing and restoring trauma memories.
Lori graduated with a B.S. in Human Development from UC Davis in 1993, an M.A. in Marital and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1997, and a certificate in Spiritual Direction from Mercy Center in 2014. She believes every person was created to flourish, and considers it one of her greatest privileges to be trusted with the stories, life experiences, pain and joy of her clients; Lori believes it would be an honor to be a trusted companion to you on your journey toward healing, freedom and wholeness.
She has been married to Steve for 29 years, and they enjoy spending time with their four adult daughters and one son-in-law. She is a runner, a reader, a hiker, a knitter, and a lover of strong coffee.
